1.My hopes and expectation for Critical Literacy

************************************************************************************************************

You heard comments and maybe grievances from your seniors about Critical Literacy, but what is/are your expectation (s) or hope for this subject as you are just started.

************************************************************************************************************

As semester 4 started, the subject that had my attention the most is Critical Literacy where lecturers and seniors had mention will be the hardest subject for the semester. As a person who like to observe and think everyday, i'm anxious to start learning Critical Literacy.

My first impression of the subject is that we're required to think out of the box, where we need to understand a topic from another person view or perspective. Thus I'm correct but not entirely, what i expect is that we will be given a topic and make a discussion of it in detail but in reality we were given an article or excerpt and are required to analyze it using "the rule of 10" which i'm confused and hard to understand at first. With the help of fellow lectures and friends i manage to understand all 10 rules and manage to make my own view on the article, I hope.

As stated earlier, when i understand the requirement for all 10 rule, the thinking part is for me kind of easy and enjoyable because that's what i do everyday. Thinking and viewing things from others perception.

I hope from learning Critical Literacy i could sharpen my critical thinking skills as it is important to understand a situation unbiased and making the correct decision. I also hope that i will passed this subject with flying colour.

Taken together, i hope this subject will be an enjoyable subject for me to go through and i realize that when Critical Literacy is to be understand fully the rest is not so hard as what the seniors exaggerated.
