As this semester is reaching its end, i've learn a lot about Critical Literacy. The assumption that Critical Literacy is a tough subject is true yet i enjoy learning it as it challenge me to think out of the box in a proper way.
As a person who likes to think from another people perception and out of the box, Critical Literacy had helped me to achieve higher understanding in thinking critically. As a person who is not so fond of reading long text, this subject have helped me by literally forced me to read article or an excerpt which i found out to be quite interesting and enjoying. For example i got a chance to read an excerpt from a book titled Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. The only thing i know of the book is that it is the most sensitive and dangerous book as what i heard and read comments of it. As i read the excerpt i found that what Adolf is trying to inform us about Jews is literally correct and can be proved easily by plain sight.
Anyhow, the suggestion that i can convey to improve Critical Literacy is the reading material can include indie books and classical literature. Why indie books? because indie books usually unbiased and have views of a topic from all kind of society level. For classical literature, the poem or writings of that time used very complex kind of wording and sentences to describe simple term like love. And secondly i think there's no wrong answer in Critical Literacy, it all depends on how we think and look at things. So when an answer is given and it's not the same as ours don't take it as a wrong answer instead take it as a correct answer from a different perception.
All in all, Critical Literacy have helped me in many ways and had given me a new experience of reading article i didn't even know of having the chances to. I'm grateful to be given the chance to learn Critical Literacy, although it's tough but i enjoyed it very much.
